Commonly known as Oregon Sunshine, Eriophyllum lanatum is a beautiful silver-foliaged perennial that produces bright yellow daisy flowers throughout summer.
It thrives in hot, sunny borders, forming good-sized clumps with minimal fuss. It makes a surprisingly effective companion to Allium cristophii, its silver foliage neatly concealing the unsightly lower leaves of the allium as it comes into flower. If it becomes untidy during the growing season, simply cut it back and it will regrow. It can be divided in spring or autumn.
