Commonly known as Stork's Bill, Erodium manescavii is a clump-forming perennial with attractive pinnate, toothed, mid-green basal leaves. From early summer right through to early autumn, long stems carry clusters of saucer-shaped magenta-purple flowers with distinctive dark spots on the upper petals — a long and generous flowering season that makes it a real garden asset.
Best grown in gritty, sharply drained neutral to alkaline soil in full sun. Perfect for rock gardens, troughs, and alpine houses. Deadhead regularly to keep the flowers coming, and ensure good drainage over winter as it resents wet conditions.
