Geranium [Dark Eyes] ('Macger001')

A new introduction from Elizabeth MacGregor’s nursery, ‘Dark Eyes’ is a cranesbill with real presence. The deeply divided foliage emerges a rich bronze-purple — a moody, distinctive backdrop that makes the flowers all the more striking. Those blooms are vivid violet-magenta, each with a dark central eye that gives the cultivar its name, carried in loose clusters on upright stems from early summer right through to the end of the season.

Versatile and easy to grow, it performs well in sun or partial shade in any fertile, well-drained soil. Try it at the front of a border, in containers, or tumbling over a low wall. Cut back after the first flush to encourage fresh growth and a second flush of flowers.
