A compact, mound-forming Geranium with masses of rich purple flowers etched with dark veins. A relatively recent introduction, it is a magnet for bees and butterflies, with an exceptionally long flowering season stretching from late spring to the first frosts.

Best in sun to partial shade in moist but free-draining, neutral to alkaline soil. Tolerates heat and humidity well — avoid planting in soil prone to sitting wet for long periods over winter.

Deadhead spent stems regularly to keep the flowers coming. As flowering slows in late autumn, the foliage takes on fiery orange tones before dying back. Established clumps can be divided once the foliage has died down.

Versatile and easy to grow, it works beautifully as ground cover, in gravel gardens and borders, and will tumble happily over the sides of containers.
