Geranium x johnsonii 'Johnson's Blue'

Large, lavender-blue flowers with dark veining appear in summer above deeply cut, rich green foliage. Dating from the 1950s, this iconic cottage garden geranium has a relaxed, informal habit that makes it excellent ground cover — particularly beautiful woven through old roses and traditional perennials.

Trim back after flowering to encourage a second flush of blooms and good autumn colour. Unfussy and adaptable, it thrives in any moderately fertile, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade.
