Delicate coppery-pink flowers with dark rusty-red sepals gently nod in the breeze above short, fuzzy stems and deeply cut green foliage.
As its common name ‘Water Avens’ suggests, this charming native Geum loves a cool, moist soil and is a perfect choice for a sunny water meadow, bog garden or streamside, where its graceful nodding stems show to best effect. Bees love it. Unfussy and adaptable, it will thrive in any moist soil enriched with organic matter, in sun or partial shade.
