Dainty, narrow-petalled, star-like cream flowers that quiver in the breeze are held on slender red stems above dark green, deeply divided leaves. Airy and graceful in character, Gillenia stipulata adds real texture and lightness to woodland planting schemes and partially shaded borders alike.
It will tolerate a more alkaline soil than many woodland plants and performs best in partial shade in any fertile, moist but well-drained soil. An easy and rewarding plant once established.
