Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola'

Commonly known as Golden Hakonechloa, this clump-forming perennial grass is grown for its striking foliage. The narrow, cascading blades are yellow with green stripes, taking on a warm red tinge in autumn.

It prefers a cool, slightly damp soil in dappled shade, but can tolerate more sun. Cut faded foliage down to the ground in late winter and divide in spring to keep the clumps vigorous.
