Lathyrus vernus is commonly known as Spring Vetchling, L.v. 'Pendulus' has arching stems which bear pink pea-like flowers with a white keel above a mound of fresh green, pinnate foliage, during spring.
Often used for planting alongside walkways or at the front of borders where these sweet flowers will provide a burst of colour. Happy to grow in either sun or dappled shade within a humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil Lathyrus vernus also work well in open woodland or as underplanting for shubs.
All parts of the plant are toxic.
