Melica uniflora f. albida

A delicate, clump-forming deciduous grass with bright green foliage, native to UK woodlands. Slender stems carry small, rice-like white flowers with yellow stamens from June to July, giving an airy, naturalistic quality to shaded planting schemes. An elegant choice for a woodland garden or shaded border, it thrives in well-drained alkaline to neutral soil and will slowly spread to form attractive ground cover.
