Nepeta are stalwarts of sunny, pollinator-friendly gardens — incredibly hardy and tolerant of temperatures down to −20°C. Their aromatic foliage and generous supply of nectar and pollen make them magnets for beneficial insects throughout the season.
'Chettle Blue' forms a neat, upright clump of ovate, toothed grey-green leaves, topped with spikes of tubular blue flowers with purple calyces from summer well into autumn. It thrives in fertile, moist but free-draining soil; avoid excessive drought in summer. Trim back in midsummer to remove spent stems and keep the plant compact and floriferous.
