Nepeta × faassenii produces a low, spreading mound of soft grey-green aromatic foliage smothered in small lilac-blue flowers throughout summer. Few plants work harder at the front of a border.
Particularly useful for underplanting roses, where its relaxed habit softens hard edges and its flowers complement almost any colour scheme. It is equally at home carpeting the ground along pathways, edging a formal border, or spilling through a gravel garden. Cut back hard after the first flush of flowers and it will bounce back quickly with a fresh wave of blooms. Thrives in free-draining soil in full sun.
