An unusual catmint, Nepeta govaniana bears pale lemon-yellow flowers over very fragrant, lemon-scented foliage in late summer and early autumn. Plant it where you can brush past and enjoy the light, fresh fragrance it releases.
This woodland-edge species is happy in partial shade in any reasonable soil, and will tolerate moderately dry conditions once established. It makes a good, well-branched plant and is a distinctive choice for a shaded border or naturalistic planting scheme.
