Nepeta nuda is a tall, elegant catmint with an airy, naturalistic character. Slender spikes carry numerous tiny pale lilac flowers with a gentle aromatic scent, rising above blue-green foliage that contrasts quietly with the plant's dark stems — a combination that works beautifully in informal or wildlife-friendly planting schemes.
At a metre tall it sits comfortably in the middle to back of a summer border, and it is more tolerant of difficult conditions than many catmints: it will perform in partial shade and cope with heavier soils, making it a genuinely useful choice if your garden runs to clay. Once established it is also drought-resistant, a low-maintenance asset in drier spots or gravel gardens.
