A Nepeta with a difference, 'Pink Dreams' steps away from the familiar lavender-blue of the catmints and offers something altogether more striking. Large, soft pink flower spikes rise above a clump of aromatic, dark green leaves from mid-summer through to early autumn — a long and generous season of colour.
Versatile and undemanding, 'Pink Dreams' will grow in sun or partial shade and tolerates most soil conditions. Unlike most catmints, it performs well in shadier spots, making it a particularly useful perennial for borders that don't get full sun all day. Cut back after the first flush of flowers to encourage a second wave of blooms.
Once the clump has built up to a good size, plants can be divided in early autumn to increase your stock or keep them in check.
It combines well with Astrantia, Geranium, Digitalis, and Hosta.
