Commonly known as Gaura or Whirling Butterflies, Oenothera lindheimeri produces elegant spires of white flowers that dance in the breeze throughout summer — a graceful and airy addition to any sunny border.
Easy to grow and long-flowering, it combines beautifully with a wide variety of plants. In late autumn, cut stems back to half height; in early spring, cut back to around 5cm from ground level to promote fresh growth from the base. It thrives in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny position.
