Paeonia lactiflora ‘Karl Rosenfield’ is a classic double peony, producing large, fragrant, crimson-red flowers from wine-red buds in early summer. The deeply divided, glossy green foliage takes on bronze tints later in the season, adding further interest as the flowers fade.
A long-lived and rewarding perennial, it thrives in a sunny position in reasonably fertile, free-draining soil. The large, sumptuous blooms are also excellent for cutting.
