This bushy semi-evergreen perennial has wonderful bright pink bell-shaped flowers with gorgeous white throats all summer long. Beneath the blooms are lance-shaped green leaves which cover the remainder of the stem.
Penstemon are a top choice for flower borders due to the continuous flowering; 'Flamingo' is also great in containers. Keep deadheading during the summer to encourage further flowering. Leave the top growth on throughout the winter, in spring after the last frosts cut back hard to stimulate the new growth. Plant in a sunny or lightly shaded situation in any reasonably good soil.
