Penstemon 'King George V'

An extremely popular perennial due to its very large scarlet bell-shaped flowers which have sensational maroon stripped white throats. Comparatively wide, linear, glossy foliage covers the stems beneath the flower panicles.

A fabulous Penstemon for your flower borders and containers. It would look phenomenal in a 'hot' border due to the striking scarlet-red blooms which last into the autumn. Bees and butterflies go mad for 'King George V',  It prefers a sunny, shelter border with a fertile free-draining, moisture-retentive soil . Leave the top growth on over winter to help protect this tender perennial. 'King George V' needs cutting back hard in the spring once the last of the frosts have passed
