Plants are dispatched in growing condition and may not be in full flower. If too tall to pack safely, we may cut them back — this helps them establish more quickly. Read our Mail Order FAQs.
Commonly known as Pasqueflower, Pulsatilla vulgaris has a clump-forming habit. Finely dissected silvery-green feathery foliage creates a clump beneath the blousy nodding blooms during early spring. The beautiful purple flowers have a vibrant yellow centre. After flowering attractive large, fluffy seed heads are produced.
Sunny conditions and a well-drained soil are best. Too much moisture is not favourable. Rockeries and gravel gardens can be given a colourful lift with these fancy flowers.
All parts of the plant are toxic.
