This vigorous perennial has strap-like, green foliage with red margins and delightful large creamy yellow flowers which appear in clusters all summer long. Despite its exotic appearance it will survive all but the harshest of winters.
Roscoea prefers humus-rich soil that is fairly free draining and slightly acid, in a shady or partially shady location. This stunning plant would look fantastic in a woodland situation or on shady banks and slopes, as well as in your flower borders. Roscoea emerges in very late spring, be careful not to dig this plant up by accident.
H5: hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters (-15 to -10)
