Event information
About this event
Rosy Hardy's talks have become a firm favourite with gardeners of all levels — from complete beginners to seasoned professionals — and it's easy to see why. In a friendly, relaxed setting at the nursery, Rosy shares her hard-won knowledge with characteristic warmth and enthusiasm, and even the most experienced attendees rarely leave without picking up something new.
Rosy's talks are designed as a series, running throughout the growing season, so there's always something timely and relevant to explore. Each talk focuses on a carefully chosen selection of plants from the nursery — expect honest advice on how to grow them well, inspired planting combinations, and tips on avoiding the common pitfalls. Come ready to be inspired.
Before you visit
- Wear sturdy, non-slip shoes — our paths are rough and uneven
- If it's cold, dress in layers; if it's a hot day, light breathable clothing is best
- Talks take place in our large barn or a polytunnel depending on the weather — tunnels heat up quickly, so please let the speaker know if you feel too hot at any point; we can open vents and doors easily
- Please be aware of moving vehicles on site — pay attention when crossing the yard and avoid lingering in the staff car park area in front of the large barn
- You will be given a brief fire safety chat before your talk or workshop begins
- We have a no smoking policy in all buildings on site, including the propagation house, polytunnels and shade tunnels
- All attendees will be contacted a few days before the event — if you haven't received an email please contact us at info@hardysplants.co.uk
- If you or a member of your party has mobility problems, please let us know in advance and we will arrange a parking space as close to the seating area as possible
Parking: Parking is in the retail customer car park — first on the right if approaching from the B3400 London Road, turning up Priory Lane — unless we instruct you otherwise.
On arrival: You will be greeted by a Hardy's staff member who will direct you to register and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee before your talk or workshop begins.
