Join Rosy here at the nursery for a hands on, practical propagation workshop which covers a variety of methods to propagate herbaceous perennials in a relaxed and friendly environment.
These workshops are aimed at beginner and more experienced gardeners who wish to learn the basic principles and practices associated with plant propagation. Rosy's aim is to enable participants to confidently use their newly acquired skills at home in their own gardens, to increase their plant propagation success rates and enjoy the experience of being able to produce their own plants.
During the Autumn workshop Rosy will cover:
- A general overview.
- How to take root cuttings
- How to take basal cuttings.
- Splitting herbaceous perennials.
- Q&As on problems associated with propagation.
Participants will be able to take their cuttings home at the end of the workshop, along with a pair of ARS snips as used by Rosy and our propagation team here.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are included in the ticket price.
Please note propagation techniques may change depending on the season and availability of plant material.
Workshops are limited to 10 people per session.
Location: Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants. Priory Lane Nursery. Priory Lane. Freefolk Priors. Whitchurch. Hants RG28 7FA
The workshop starts promptly at 10.30am until 12.30pm but give yourself until 1pm so you can practice your skills.
