Tall, branching stems of Rudbeckia laciniata 'Herbstsonne' bear large, golden-yellow daisy flowers, each with a distinctive green cone, from late summer into autumn. Broad, lance-shaped leaves clothe the upright stems, and given time this impressive perennial will form substantial clumps.
Happy in any reasonably fertile soil in a sunny position, its bold height makes it ideal for prairie-style planting or the back of a border. Divide in autumn to keep clumps vigorous.
