Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna'

‘Caradonna’ carries spikes of striking violet-blue flowers on purple-black stems above sage-scented, oval green leaves. The colour combination is simply beautiful — the dark stems adding depth and intensity to the flowers. Widely used by designers for its impact and versatility, it flowers prolifically from summer through into autumn.

An excellent choice for underplanting roses, it also combines beautifully with grasses such as Anemanthele lessoniana or Stipa tenuissima, and associates well with bright reds, oranges, and lime greens. A veritable bee magnet. Once settled in, ‘Caradonna’ is drought tolerant, but performs best in a light, fairly rich, moist but free-draining soil, in full sun, although partial shade can be tolerated.
