Salvia 'Pink Amistad'

'Pink Amistad' is, as its name suggests, a pink form of Salvia 'Amistad'. Willowy spikes of large pink flowers appear from late May until stopped by the first autumn frosts.

It looks stunning planted in drifts through a herbaceous or mixed border, adding weaving vertical accents and dramatic colour that really draws the eye. Much beloved by bees, it combines beautifully with ornamental grasses and daisy-type flowers such as Rudbeckia, and is also well suited to coastal gardens. A spot in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil will suit it best.

Rated H3, it is hardy in coastal and relatively mild parts of the UK but will need protection in harsher winters or colder inland locations.
