'Pink Amistad' is as its name would suggest a pink form of Salvia 'Amistad', willowy spikes of large pink flowers appear from late May until stopped by the first autumn frosts.
It looks simply stunning planted in drifts through a herbaceous or mixed border, adding weaving vertical punctuation and dramatic colour that really draws the eye. Much beloved by bees,it suits loose naturalistic schemes combined with ornamental grasses and daisy-type flowers such as Rudbeckia, but is also suitable for coastal gardens. Frost hardy, it needs protection in harsh winters. A spot in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil will suit it best.
H3: hardy in coastal and relatively mild parts of the UK (-5 to 1)
