Masses of distinctive five-petalled, lilac-pink flowers are carried in loose clusters over a low mound of mid-green narrow foliage. Mat-forming by nature, it creates useful ground cover.
An evergreen soapwort well suited to planting near steps, edging a pathway or the front of a raised area, where its prolific, gently tumbling flowers can be appreciated. It also looks very effective in a rock or gravel garden, delivering year-round interest. Avoid planting in too rich a soil, as its habit will become more lax — it thrives in poor, free-draining soil in full sun.
