This charming Saxifraga forms small cushions of tightly packed, yellow-green rosettes from which tall, gently bowing red stems appear in early summer, carrying delicate lemon-yellow flowers.
Slowly creeping in habit, it makes an interesting and unusual ground cover for any sunny, reasonably free-draining soil that is not completely dry, though it does take time to bulk up. It is very much at home growing in and gently spilling out of cracks in walls, or planted along the edge of a gravel path. Bees are mad for its nectar-rich flowers.
