Saxifraga 'Monarch' (8)

A mat-forming, evergreen perennial, Saxifraga 'Monarch' builds attractive rosettes of grey-green, oblong leaves. In summer, slender stems rise to 50cm, bearing fragrant white flowers with a distinctive red spot at the base of each petal — a charming detail that rewards a closer look.

An RHS Award of Garden Merit holder, it is reliable and unfussy in sun or partial shade, thriving in well-drained, non-acidic soil. Notably drought resistant once established, it is ideal for rock gardens, gravel plantings, troughs, or the front of a sunny border.
