Dainty pink and white flowers appear during spring above low mounds of green, fern-like foliage. Closely related to Aquilegia, this short-lived Australian perennial produces slightly smaller flowers without spurs.
It looks beautiful planted in groups at the front of a cottage garden border, and works equally well beneath shrubs and roses, softening their bare stems. An unfussy plant, it will grow happily in any reasonably good soil in sun or partial shade.
