Commonly known as Tyerman's Groundsel, Senecio pulcher carries large, vivid pink daisies with bold golden centres on upright stems above basal rosettes of fresh green foliage, from late summer through to autumn.
Native to wet valleys and rocky flood plains in South America, it thrives in a sheltered, sunny position — ideally against a south-facing wall — in cool, deep, fertile, free-draining soil. It brings vivid late-season colour to a border and looks equally good in a container on a terrace.
