Sidalcea 'Rose Queen'

Upright spikes of vivid rose-pink flowers with gently fringed petals rise high above rounded, mid-green basal foliage. This outstanding Prairie Mallow is highly rated for its large, hollyhock-like blooms, which add real delight to the middle of a cottage garden or herbaceous border throughout summer. Cutting the first flush back to the ground will encourage a second flush.

It combines beautifully with ornamental grasses and other perennials in naturalistic, prairie-style planting schemes, and makes an excellent cut flower. For best results, grow in a light, reasonably fertile, humus-rich soil that is free-draining but retains some moisture, in full sun.
