Silene coronaria

Bright magenta, single flowers appear over silver semi-evergreen foliage on tall erect stems during summer. Commonly known as Rose Campion it is ideally suited to a site in full sun with a free-draining soil.

Although this is a short lived perennial given the right conditions it will self-seed freely, a real bonus for those who love a little bit of serendipity, as seedling plants pop up creating colour combinations all of their own. Keep deadheading to prolong flowering and if desired to prevent the plant from seeding around. Perfect for cottage gardens and gravel gardens.
