Symphyotrichum novi-belgii 'Priory Blush'

Dating from the 1960's 'Priory Blush' is one of those unusual Michaelmas daisies that deserves to be better known.  From September into October and sometimes beyond, its individual flower heads open to form a deep ruff of neat pale pink petals flushed soft pink that flatten as they fade.  

For a contrast of flower shape and colour combine them with single Symphyotrichum such as S. 'Oktoberlicht' and Chrysanthemum 'Ruby Mound' and ornamental grasses.  A strong choice for a cottage garden or herbaceous border, with so many blooms to the stem and lasting well in water, they are perfect for your cutting garden too.  They thrive in sun or very light shade in fertile, reasonable soil.
