Soft lilac-blue daisy flowers with warm yellow centres over grey-green foliage from late summer into autumn. A compact, low, bushy form that is more drought tolerant than most asters, producing a neat clump of lance-shaped, slightly hairy leaves on upright stems.
Perfect for the front of a border or gravel garden, it combines beautifully with other late-season perennials — ornamental grasses, Sedum, and fellow autumn asters. It thrives in fertile, moist but well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil in full sun or partial shade. Mulching in autumn is beneficial, and it will not tolerate waterlogging in winter.
