Thalictrum delavayi

Thalictrum delavayi is commonly known as Chinese Meadow Rue. This native to China has delicate lilac purple buds that burst open to reveal cream stamens during summer. The handsome, pinnately divided foliage is green/blue in colour.

Humus-rich soils will allow this plant to flourish. Staking may be required to support Thalictrum delavayi in exposed areas; full sun or part shade in a sheltered situation are preferred. An amazing architectural plant that often attracts pollinators. T.delavyii appears very late in the spring and is prone to being either dug up accidentally or trodden on, it is a wise precaution to mark where the plants are.
