'Elin' is a very handsome hybrid, created from a cross between Thalictrum rochebrunianum andThalictrum flavum glaucum. This sterile perennial has sprays of purple lilac flowers during mid-late summer. Pinnate, blue-green leaves appear on dark purple stems.
This Thalictrum which can reach eight feet in height, is generally self supporting but may need staking in very exposed situations. Full sun is perfect for 'Elin' in any reasonably good soil, this is without doubt, a plant for the back of your borders.
