Tulipa ‘Spring Green’ is one of our great favourites at the nursery. A viridiflora tulip, its simple but elegant goblet-shaped flowers carry white petals painted with a central fresh green brush stroke that last exceptionally well in the garden and combine beautifully with almost any colour.
It looks particularly sophisticated alongside other fresh green foliage — try it with Lamprocapnos spectabilis ‘Alba’ or spring-flowering Euphorbia — and it will light up beautifully in front of an evergreen hedge. It thrives and will return year after year in a rich, free-draining soil; if that’s not possible, it works equally well planted with other bulbs in a bulb lasagne or planter.
