Valeriana officinalis ssp. sambucifolia

Commonly known as Elder-Leaved Valerian, this clump-forming perennial throws up tall slender stems, which carry flowerheads of pale pink blooms during early summer. Valeriana has highly scented flowers.

A great herbaceous perennial that will add height to your borders. Choose a situation in the full sun that has a reasonably good soil and this perennial will be extremely happy. Valeriana self-seeds, if you wish to avoid having seedlings remove the flower stems as the flowers go over. This plant is great for pollinators.
