Verbascum chaixii 'Album'

Verbascum chaixii ‘Album’ is a white form of Nettle-Leaved Mullein. From mid to late summer, a multitude of tall flower spikes rise above basal rosettes of large, grey-green, softly hairy leaves. The cream buds open to pure white flowers with distinctive purple stamens — a striking combination.

Mulleins thrive in a sunny position and are well suited to exposed situations, where their tall architectural spikes really come into their own. Plant in well-drained soil; they are drought tolerant once established and dislike sitting in wet conditions over winter.
