Slender stems carry a haze of tiny pink-purple flowers from late summer well into autumn, held above a mound of rich purple foliage. A long season of interest that earns its place in any border scheme.
Verbena × baileyana 'Purple-leaved' is a versatile and easy-going perennial that works beautifully in naturalistic plantings, gravel gardens, and mixed borders. Its airy flower heads are a magnet for butterflies and bees, and the deep foliage colour provides a striking contrast to silvers and soft yellows. Thrives in full sun in any well-drained soil; tolerant of dry conditions once established.
