Spires of pure white flowers with striking blue veins rise from basal rosettes of lance-shaped leaves in spring, forming a carpet of green throughout the year. Deadheading after flowering will keep the plant tidy.
Undemanding and adaptable, it grows well in most soils in sun or partial shade — a reliable low-maintenance choice for underplanting roses or shrubs, edging borders, or lining walkways.
‘Tissington White’ is a Hardy’s introduction — or perhaps re-introduction. The plant was discovered in a garden in the village of Tissington, Derbyshire, and rescued from obscurity by Hardy’s many years ago. It has been a firm favourite with our customers ever since.
