Spires of white flowers, tinged with the palest shade of blue and overlaid with delicate blue veins, appear during late spring. The flower spires rise from basal rosettes of lance-shaped foliage, which forms a semi-evergreen carpet of green at the base of the plant.
Deadhead regularly to encourage a longer flowering season, and divide established clumps to keep the plant vigorous and fresh. Equally happy in sun or partial shade in any reasonable soil, this is an easy and rewarding perennial for borders and cottage gardens alike.
