                                    Euonymus fortunei 'Emerald Gaiety'
Height x Spread: 100cm x 150cm
'Emerald Gaiety' is one of those shrubs that every gardener should know about, such is its value to a garden. It is grown mostly for its bushy structure, packed with neat pointed leaves, each dark green with a fine white edge and silver veining but in early summer it may also produce very small green flowers.
Being semi-evergreen it will retain its foliage through winter in all but the coldest areas of the UK, but the leaves will take on a slight pinky tinge. Easy to grow and look after, use it to illuminate slightly shadier areas of the garden or break up large areas of dark evergreen shrubs. Good groundcover, it responds well to trimming in mid to late spring and can be shaped. It prefers a sunny or partially shaded site and a reasonable free draining soil.
