Lyrthrum salicaria is commonly known as Purple Loosestrife. Lance-shaped, soft green leaves cover upright red stems, which bear spikes of soft pink flowers during midsummer.
This is a clump forming perennial that has narrow, mid-green leaves upon upright stems. These stems bear tall spikes of pink flowers that bloom through-out the summer.
The flowers emerge in May and continue until September. In the USA it is pollinated by hummingbirds, but in the U.K it is highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
'Feuerkerze' also known as 'Firecandle' is a cultivar of Lythrum, it is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial. Rose-red flower spikes appear during midsummer.
'Dropmore Purple' is commonly known as Wand Loosestrife. Narrow hairless mid-green leaves cover the erect stems beneath the purple flower spikes, which bloom throughout summer.
