Geranium Mary-Anne
Height x Spread: 45cm x 80cm
This is a compact, mound forming plant with masses of rich purple flowers with dark veins. Fully hardy to -20C, this relatively new introduction is a magnet for bees and butterflies. Its long flowering season, from late spring to the first frost, adds to its use as a wildlife friendly addition to your garden.
Best in sun to part-shade in moist but free-draining, neutral to alkaline soil. It will benefit from the addition of organic matter and will tolerate heat and high humidity. Just don't allow this plant to sit in excessive wet for long periods.
To keep the flowers coming, dead head spent stems regularly through the season. As the flowers start to slow down in late autumn, the foliage will shift to a fiery orange before it dies back.
Established clumps can be split when the foliage has died back.
Ideal for use a ground cover, in rock gardens, bed and borders and will tumble happily over the sides of containers.
An easy to grow plant with a long season of interest and lots or potential uses.
