Use the 1-2 mm size granules for the replacement of perlite, mixing into compost gives a light weight, free-draining growing media that is perfect for cuttings.
You can also use the cork as a top dressing. The anti-bacterial and anti-fungicidal properties of cork prevent green slimy growth that would normally develop on your cutting trays and pots. This has the added benefit of reducing attacks from the two types of jumping insects, Sciarid and Shore Fly. These insects collect debris from the additional growths on the surface of the compost. Using the cork gives you a much cleaner surface so the insects have nothing to feed on.
We can send cork with plants purchased for delivery by mail, or place a click and collect order and pick up in our nursery shop.
