Leucojum aestivum 'Gravetye Giant'
Height x Spread: 60cm x 10cm
Commonly known as a 'Snowflake', this bulbous perennial is a larger cousin to the ever-popular Galanthus or 'Snowdrop'. Happiest in evenly moist or even boggy, acid to neutral soil in sun to part shade. This plant will naturalise over time into pretty clumps that disappear in summer and re-emerge in the autumn.
Flowering takes place in March and April and is a welcome sight for bees and other beneficial pollinators. The flowers are nodding bells of five white tepals each with a green dot at the tip.
