Aster ageratoides 'Harry Smith'
Height x Spread: 60cm x 45cm
'Harry Smith' is one of those plants that deserves to be better known. From late summer into autumn it produces masses of small soft pink single flowers, each with a golden centre on dark wiry branching stems. The fact that it performs well in part shade in a free draining soil - among other conditions - is the answer to many a gardener's prayer, late season colour in dry shade - hurrah!!
Good for attracting pollinators, plus robust and resistant to mildew, it combines well with the soft yellow flowers of Nepeta govaniana, the taller starry white blooms of Eurybia divaricata and heart-shaped Epimedium foliage.
