Cenolophium denudatum
Height x Spread: 100cm x 60cm.
Commonly known as Baltic Parsley, this relatively unknown umbellifer is beginning to make quite a name for itself. Flamboyant yet also very elegant, from mid summer into autumn it produces large flattish clusters of tiny white flowers that sway gently above very finely cut, decorative dark green foliage.
Designers love its versatility, using it in naturalistic swathes in prairie style planting as well as cottage and wildlife gardens. But it is also attractive enough to hold its own in a smart courtyard or town garden too, its fine foliage supporting surrounding plants before the main floral act appears. Perfect for attracting beneficial insects , it prefers a good, moist but well-drained soil in either full sun or partial shade. A great choice for a cutting garden too.
